10th Annual Prince George’s County YPL Finals

This has been such a busy but rewarding year serving as PG County's Youth Poet Laureate. One of the most important things this journey has taught me is the meaning of resilience. The quiet strength you build when you perform on and off stage is incomparable. The lessons and the wins are necessary not only to make you a better writer or performer but a better person. I could not have made it to where I am today without God, my parents (shoutout to my mom-mager), and last but definitely not least Mr. Washington. With @dialectpgpoets, I was able to grow my artistry and outreach to the community, meeting so many amazing people (shoutout to the previous YPLs and ambassadors)!! Never would that have been possible without them.

Congratulations to the new ambassadors and the 2025 Youth Poet Laureate, Kaylee Joge!!! 🎉 You all have a voice and, most importantly, the courage to use it. I am so proud, and I know that with this new talented cohort, Dialect is in good hands. Continue to write and build your resilience. Now it is time to make this year your own. 👑

10th Annual Prince George’s County YPL Finals

This has been such a busy but rewarding year serving as PG County's Youth Poet Laureate. One of the most important things this journey has taught me is the meaning of resilience. The quiet strength you build when you perform on and off stage is incomparable. The lessons and the wins are necessary not only to make you a better writer or performer but a better person. Last Saturday, I performed for a fundraising event to support care centers, including the University of MD Capital Region Medical Center, @umcapitalregion, and raise awareness for domestic violence. It was an honor to contribute to a worthy cause 🙌🏾
